中国共青团思想建设职能是指在中国共产党领导下,中国共青团发挥自身组织优势、整合外部社会资源,用党的政治理念、政治纲领、政治路线、政治方针以及马克思主义中国化的理论创新成果武装团员青年,增进团员青年对中国特色社会主义的道路自信、理论自信、制度自信。改革开放直接推动经济转型和社会变迁,这也成为新时期中国共青团思想建设职能内涵不断丰富、边界不断拓展的根本动力。总体来看,改革开放以来中国共青团思想建设职能经历了"思想政治工作"、"思想政治教育"、"思想引领"等三个发展阶段,并逐步构建起具有共青团组织特点的思想建设话语体系和表达方式,共青团思想建设更加聚焦于青年群众、更加注重引入现代信息手段、更加注重与青年平等对话、更加注重青年思想建设的现实性和实践性,体现中国共青团思想建设职能的理解、认识和运用不断走向成熟。

The Communist Youth League of China's function in ideological building refers to the CYLC, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, makes the best of its organization's advantage, integrates the outside resources, arms its members with the Party's political idea, political program, political line, political policy and the innovative theoretical research achievements in the localization of Marxism and enhance the self-confidence of the members in the road, theory and system of the socialism with Chinese characteristics. Promoting directly the economic transition and social change, the Reform and Opening-up has become the essential stimulus to the unceasing enrichment of connotation and constant expansion of the boundary for the CYLC's function in ideological building. Generally speaking, the CYLC's function in ideological building experiences the following three stages since the Reform and Opening-up, "the ideological and political work", "the ideological and political education" and "ideology guidance", establishes gradually the discourse system and propaganda platform for the ideological building with characteristics of CYLC, so the CYLC's ideological building focuses more on youth masses, attaches more importance to the introduction of modern information accesses, pays more attention to dialogue with the youth on the basis of equality, lays emphasis on reality and practice in the ideological building for youth and reflects the developing process to maturity in understanding, perceiving and practicing the ideological building function of the CYLC.
